MUU Bangkok invites you to an exclusive dinner of “Treasure Hunting” on 28 – 29 February 2024 with just 40 seats available per night. The 4-hands dinner collaboration of authentic Turkish and Italian mediterranean cuisine by two seasoned chefs presents the innovative menus of Chef Tharit Tangsongsirisak or ‘Chef Yakup’, the owner of Fat Lamb Restaurant and winner of Iron Chef 2019, Mediterranean Halal Restaurant which is one of Thailand’s top Turkish restaurants and Chef Thanaphon Chatuporncharoenchai or ‘Chef Jay’, the recently new appointed head chef of Otto Italian Restaurant in Thonglor who’s previous work experience included stints with Canvas, a fine dining restaurant owned by a Michelin star and Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery.

Tresure Hunting is the inspiration for a four-course menu based on the concepts of EARTH, SEA, RIVER, and LAND with menu items sourced from uncommon ingredients.

“Chef Yakup will blast your mind with joy. The feeling of dining a Turkish meal in Istanbul, smelling of spices, and eating the Sultan’s favorite foods is fantastic. Meanwhile, Chef Jay hunts for precious ingredients from around the world and rare ingredients from Thailand to bring out the charm of the original menu flavor combined with his own secret sauce this will allow a variety of flavors to spread in your mouth. And it’s a new flavor that the two chefs have never created before.” Phiwat Sansawadipetra, Food and Beverage Manager of OTTO Restaurant, stated.

Phiwat also highlighted. “The finest foods imported from each inspiring country are the event’s highlights. Chef Yakup imports ingredients from Turkey, while Chef Jay focus on the freshness of seafood from other countries, such as scallops from Hokkaido in Japan and Mediterranean Sea bass from France, including a surprise menu that Chef will perfectly blend a local Japanese dessert “Monaka” with the SEA concept.”
In addition, Chef Jay is carefully sourcing premium ingredients in each region to cook into a special menu that focuses on bringing out the best in the ingredients’ flavors, such as ‘Blue Crabs’ from Tapee Seafood in Surat Thani and premium ‘Tao Toey Fish’ from the famous organic seafood farm in Phuket.

“Chef Jay’s dedication to supporting local businesses and elevating local foods has resulted in a distinct Mediterranean-style Italian menu. The special dinner night event at MUU BANGKOK also features Chef Yakup’s inspiration for designing the special dinner menu, which was inspired by the Sultan of Turkey’s favorite cuisine, ‘Hungar Begenbi’. The chefs collaborated on a dessert dish that they devised using valuable ingredients from Turkey and Chiang Mai. We guarantee that our guests will experience the happiness of Treasure Hunting.” Mr. Phiwat Sansawadipetra was inserted.

Treasure Hunting Dinner also presents the perfect wine paring by Khun Kittisak Jarayabhand, the famous wine guru of Swirl Cellar and Wine Bar in Thonglor, along with amusing wine stories and tips on pairing. 008 BAR, an awarded hidden speakeasy bar located within the hotel, presents a specialty-created drink paired perfectly by mixologist Khun Oak to ignite the night.
