Huawei pledges full support for the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s vision to become a leading AI Integrated University, offering cutting-edge technology and comprehensive courses to ensure sustainable development.
Mr. William Zhang, President of Enterprise Business at Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., highlighted the company’s commitment to facilitating smooth digital transformation in education. He presented compelling data and trends showing how educational institutions are evolving from isolated digital applications to comprehensive, intelligent infrastructures. Huawei’s vision, Zhang explained, is to create integrated ICT solutions that seamlessly combine connectivity, cloud computing, big data, and AI to revolutionize teaching, research, management, and services across the entire educational process.
Huawei also presented in-depth information on “AirEngine Wi-Fi 7”, currently the best wireless technology in the industry. It offers fast, smooth, uninterrupted data transmission by combining all three frequency bands: 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz, providing speeds up to 10 Gbps and increased bandwidth coverage, even in previously signal-weak areas. AirEngine Wi-Fi 7’s efficiency will help students and university staff access classes or use the network for new learning formats smoothly, enabling the creation of new knowledge without boundaries and meeting the needs of intelligent era education such as metaverse and AR/VR-based teaching.
“We must thank the UTCC for allowing Huawei to participate in this mission of transitioning into the new AI era. No development can certainly progress without a strong foundation, and in the world of technology, having a good and sufficient IT infrastructure makes it easier for organizations to build upon various things. This is similar to how Huawei has introduced AirEngine Wi-Fi 7, which is currently the best wireless network in the industry.”
On this occasion, Huawei and UTCC also announced the signing of a cooperation agreement for the Huawei ICT Academy program. This collaboration aims to develop technological knowledge and promote student development in advanced technology skills, preparing them for specialized technology and entry into industry careers.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanavath Phonvichai, President of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), revealed that Huawei is considered a strategic partner in jointly elevating innovation within the university. Recently, UTCC became the first educational institution in the Asia-Pacific region to install Wi-Fi 7, which began operations on July 7. This initiative aims to enhance teaching, learning, and working experiences in line with the university’s vision of integrating AI to become an AI Integrated University, preparing students for efficient work in the business and industrial sectors.
This collaboration represents an upgrade in academic cooperation between the university and the private sector, focusing on developing ICT and AI skills and knowledge through educational programs, training, research, and other activities via the Huawei ICT Academy project. The opportunity for students to receive certificates after passing online training will be highly beneficial for those aiming to work with technology organizations both domestically and internationally.
“We are confident that this partnership will positively impact our students and staff, helping them develop the necessary skills and knowledge for working in the digital era,” Dr. Thanavath stated. “These skills can be applied to advance businesses, organizations, and our society.”
