Huawei Digital Power, in partnership with ICBC (Thai) Leasing (ICBCTL), continues to accelerate Thailand’s transition to renewable energy with the expansion of their solar rooftop initiative, ‘0 Investment, Let the Sun Pay for You.’ This project aims to promote affordable solar energy solutions for both residential and commercial buildings, supporting the nation’s net-zero emission goal by 2065.
David Li, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand), emphasized the project’s importance that “Our collaboration with ICBCTL is making solar power more accessible to households, businesses, and industries. With the expanded leasing program, we are poised to contribute even more to Thailand’s renewable energy landscape, driving innovation and making significant progress toward carbon neutrality.”
To date, over 150 leading installer companies in Thailand have partnered with ICBCTL to promote the use of Huawei’s advanced FusionSolar solution. More than 800 installation sites are already utilizing the technology, and the initiative has successfully secured over 150 million THB in leasing agreements through ICBCTL. This milestone showcases the rising demand for solar energy solutions as Thailand shifts towards cleaner energy sources.
Looking ahead, ICBCTL is preparing to roll out an enhanced leasing program of up to 6 million THB, expanding its coverage to include not only residential households but also commercial and factory buildings. This joint effort aims to further boost Thailand’s solar capacity, with ambitious targets of over 3,000 residential installations per year and more than 30 MW of commercial-scale installations annually.
Xiao Bo Li, Chairman of ICBCTL, highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration in promoting solar adoption across Thailand: “We are proud to partner with Huawei in this transformative journey towards sustainable energy. Our enhanced leasing programs are designed to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for all sectors, from residential to industrial.By facilitating the financing of these projects, we are helping Thailand achieve its net-zero emissions target while also creating long-term value for businesses and homeowners alike. Together with Huawei, we are confident in the positive impact this initiative will bring to Thailand’s renewable energy landscape.”
With a strong foundation in place, Huawei and ICBCTL are committed to driving Thailand’s renewable energy transformation, supporting the country’s goal of a decentralized and sustainable energy future.
As part of the national strategy, Thailand aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and reach net-zero emissions by or before 2065. Solar energy is increasingly recognized as a vital component in this transformation. It offers a renewable, cost-effective solution that not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also addresses the growing global challenge of climate change.
The ‘0 Investment, Let the Sun Pay for You’ project is a key example of how Huawei Digital Power and ICBCTL are committed to making sustainable energy more accessible and affordable. By supporting the installation of solar rooftops with no upfront costs, the program empowers Thai households and businesses to reduce their energy expenses while contributing to a greener future.
Huawei’s FusionSolar solution continues to play a pivotal role in these efforts, providing smart, efficient, and innovative energy management technologies that optimize solar power generation and consumption. With a focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions, Huawei is committed to driving the adoption of clean energy in Thailand and beyond.
